Spa Specialist Training Program

The following five modules culminate in the completion of the Spa Specialist Program. Modules may be taken individually or toward completion of the full program. You may choose to immerse yourself in an intensive course of study to accelerate your Ayurvedic practice immediately or complete courses as your schedule will allow gradually building on each aspect of your practice.

Class Format: Teachings are handed down from teacher to student in the ageless oral tradition combined with interactive hands-on learning.

Group, private and semi-private classes are available. Depending on your learning style, objectives for training and scheduling needs, you are encouraged to consider these options carefully. Each option provides great benefits for you as a student.

Module 1:  Ayurveda Indian Head Massage (2 days, full-time)

An Ayureda Indian Head Massage rejuvenates the body, mind and spirit, helping to release blocked emotions, mental tensions and relieves migraine headaches and insomnia.

It can easily be integrated into your yoga studio, spa and a great beginning step in starting a career in the healing arts.

Module 2:  Ayurveda Facial (3 days, full-time)

Learn how to do a detoxifying, blissful and healing  Ayurvedic Facial using Andrea’s own Rituals Skincare line,  uniquely customized for each individual’s skin type. This ceremony is designed to take you into an inner journey of awareness and full rejuvenation. Module 3:  Abhyanga Mind & Body Therapy (3 days, full-time)

Classic Abhyanga is the Ayurvedic whole body massage that correlates to the generic Swedish massage treatment. The Abhyanga is also called the pearl of the Ayurvedic massages and considered to be the most effective treatment, “the heart of Ayurveda”. It has been said that Abhyanga decreases the fatigue and invigorates the body, cleans and tightens the tissue, increases muscle tone and physical strength, reduces muscle and joint pain and makes the joints supple, improves blood circulation and creates a sensation of lightness in the body, cleans the skin and improves the overall complexion, calmes the nervous system, improves vision, sleep and combats insomnia, increases protection against wounds and injuries, improves perception, blood circulation creating a sensation of lightness in the body, slows down the ageing and rejuvenate aged tissues, relaxes and regenerates, harmonizes the body’s energy and vitalize by reduces stress. The Abhyanga is a tool of silent dialogue between body and soul.

Module 4:  Ayurveda Hand & Foot Therapy (1 day, full-time)

You will learn how to release toxins, tension and open up the energy centre to help release physical and emotional tension. Marma therapy are the foundations of the body’s healing and natural energy centers which acupressure has been based on.
